POP'S PLANTS - CHELSEA GOLD MEDALLISTS AND HOLDERS OF FOUR NCCPG NATIONAL COLLECTIONS OF PRIMULA AURICULAWELCOME to the POP'S PLANTS website. We are a small mail order nursery on the edge of the New Forest in the South of England and we specialise solely in Primula auricula. WE are particularly keen on the old Florists' varieties - and produce all our own plants from our collection of more than 1,000 named cultivars, many of them scarce. If you are not already a devotee of Primula auricula, we at least hope to introduce you to this extraordinary and captivating flower - the product of more than four hundred years of dedicated hybridisation. But be warned, these fascinating plants can be addictive! OUR printed colour catalogue - which costs £2.00 - lists many of our auriculas. Some cultivars are slow to reproduce naturally, and others sell out quickly or have long waiting lists, so not everything is always available. We do not produce industrial quantities by micropropagation, and auriculas do not come true from seed, but we do offer the serious plantsman a wide range of choice auriculas which are true to variety. ON the website we aim to show only plants currently available, although we may get a little left behind in busy periods. We despatch plants around the world throughout the year, and prefer to send them in their pots(they are not plugs or un-rooted offsets)to minimise root disturbance. A printed monthly list of available auriculas is still produced for customers without Internet access. Shipping costs shown online are for the UK only, overseas customers please ask for details. AS well as our mail order service, we are very pleased to welcome visitors here at Pops, but by appointment only please. We hold an annual charity open weekend and stage displays at shows in the Spring, and also organise the occasional 'hands-on' workshop - please see the NEWS section for details.
